A helping hand

I am so excited to be home for Thanksgiving. I saw tons of freshly red burning bushes en route to Brampton and I was desperate to shoot portraits with them. Luckily my brother Curt (ever the supportive friend) agreed to help out and magically there was a brand new burning bush in my parent’s driveway.

There is something

about this time of year that is really important.

A quick hello

I’m down at the Flash Forward Festival this week trying to absorb as much as I can. I am seriously impressed by the artists and the organizers. I feel all giddy - like there is a million things I want to try out and change. One thing is to start working on a serious site update. So far I’ve updated the featured and portrait sections of my portfolio with recent work that I am really proud of. Hope you enjoy!

I took these shot in Mexico City when I was there early this year taking photos for a feature in Childview magazine.

Kickin’ it old school (just because we can)

A few shots from a promo shoot with Nadja Sayej from Artstars*. More to come!

Back to the beach

My friend Nate who I always seem to photograph on beaches. I was struggling on this shoot but my friend Robert showed up and whipped me into shape. Thanks for a great and fun day guys.

In that meadow (encore!)

I like this photo though I think it is a bit odd. Emily thinks it’s dark. Dar thinks it’s cool.

I took this shot of Gerry Sheff (left) and Ira Gluskin a couple of weeks ago for the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business Magazine. Every photo shoot is an adventure. You go prepared and with an idea of what you want to capture—and then you go and make it happen. You meet the most fascinating people, and for a day or two, you get to glimpse their world. It’s always interesting to head down to the financial district and take a look around (though I have to remember to turn off my headphones in the echoey elevators and not rumple my crisp shirt).

You can find the full article here. And shout-outs to Clare Jordan for the gig—amazing fun.
