Look!
Does anyone else love how babies point at everything? Well, I’m not a baby but I do want to point out this ultra cute family. Little Liam was seeking imaginary “chu-chu frains” all Saturday morning as I was photographing him and his parents.
What a busy month it has been. I’m gearing up (literally) for six shoots in the next two weeks. In a week and a half I’ll be travelling to Ottawa and Halifax and then taking a little rest in Charlottetown and Cape Breton before making my way home the first week of September. I’m terribly excited about what I’ll be shooting out east. I can barely wait.
Books and suitcases and suitcases of books
These days I’ve been feeling really lucky. I’m surrounded by loved ones. Loved ones who love each other. You’ve probably seen Armen and Lisa on my blog a million times but I couldn’t help but make them promise that I could shoot their engagement photos. When Lisa, a bunch of friends and I drove up to Eganville to play a show at Armen’s library I thought it the perfect opportunity to round them up and go on a photo-taking adventure.

La la Lisa
Our idea for Lisa’s photograph on The Royal Family’s cover was just a plain retro street shot. Our day ran away with us and the sun was sinking fast. There is an old blue volvo in front of John and Em’s house so we ran over there, woke up Em from her nap so that she could hold a reflector and shot as many frames as we could.
Relief
Rhymes with belief and I feel both after shooting with Dar, Kathryn and Emily on Monday. We were shooting clothes for Dar’s vintage line (Dar F.M.) and it came together so naturally. I worked feverishly all day yesterday sorting through the shots and processing them and I felt more like myself than I have in months. It’s the value of “make” — healing for all.
